There has been an interesting development in telemarketing, especially for travel related companies. That development is the use of sweepstakes leads to sell vacation packages. The sales agent will call and ask to speak to the person who has recently put their name in some kind of drawing. Then they will tell them they have won a certain number of days and nights at a popular vacation destination.
The catch is that the winner will have to buy something to qualify for the free vacation. For example, they get four days and nights in a hotel for free, but have to pay for airfare, or pay for an extra three nights, and then sign up for a year-long service. This usually has a great payout for those using the lottery leads.
This might seem like an inconvenience to the person on the other side of the line, maybe even a scam, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Yes, it is a sales tactic, but don’t let that turn you off. This is a great way to save money on a vacation or general travel, and all it takes is signing up for a service you otherwise may have anyway.
In the end there are benefits for everyone involved, and so there is every reason to listen to what the sales agent has to say. You may find yourself even wishing to take them up on their offer, and most people actually do. Just imagine what you will be getting out of the deal!
